Trailscapes: The Beauty of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail

LHT Inspired Art Exhibit

The beauty and tranquility of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail (LHT) as captured by Ewing Township photographer Susan Jacobsen will be on display at the Mercer County Library Branch Headquarters throughout January, with a special reception honoring her Sunday, January 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library, which is located at 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville.

“The photographs capture the LHT in different seasons and at different times of day. I love the play of light on the trail,” said Jacobsen. “I want others to see the trail in its many moods and to enjoy it as much as I do.” Jacobsen’s photographs have been on display at a number of local galleries.

The Jacobsen exhibition, Trailscapes: The Beauty of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail, is the first public exhibition of photographs of the LHT. It opens Thursday, January 2.

“We were delighted when a friend of Susan’s suggested that we collaborate with the photographer to mount a show of her works. We jumped at the chance. We consider this the first of many exhibitions of photographs, paintings, and drawings by artists who enjoy the multipurpose trail that connects Lawrence and Hopewell Townships,” said LHT Co-President Eleanor Horne.

“We hope that Susan’s many fans, photographers, and LHT enthusiasts will attend the artist reception on January 12. The reception is open to the public, but we ask that our guests RSVP by emailing info@lhtrail.org,” said Becky Taylor, LHT Co-President. “It will be a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”
