JOIN US AT THE FIRST LAWRENCE HOPEWELL TRAIL COMMUNITY MEETING
6:30 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MAY 3, AT EDUCATIONAL TESTING SERVICE
Learn more about us; consider volunteer opportunities
LHT users and enthusiasts, community members, residents and landowners are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the history, success, and current status of the LHT. Mercer County residents, especially those living in the Lawrenceville and Hopewell Valley areas, are welcome, as are any other biking, walking and running enthusiasts.
“We hope lots of people will join us on May 3 for an update on the efforts to build a 22-mile trail through public and private lands in Lawrence and Hopewell Townships,” said LHT Co-President Becky Taylor. “We are inviting people to consider volunteering to help us continue building and maintaining the trail, to get involved with public relations aspects, help staff our booth at community events and make connections with other nearby communities.”
“We are very close to completing the initial trail loop that is anchored by 4 Bristol-Myers Squibb sites and the ETS campus,” said LHT Co-President Eleanor Horne. “We invite our neighbors to join us to learn about and create other plans for the future. Current plans we will discuss include a project highlighting historical buildings and areas along the trail and an exciting partnership with Capital Health through which we are offering health-related discussions and activities.”
Since 2002, the LHT has been working to build the bicycle and pedestrian recreational trail and transportation corridor through public and private lands in Lawrence and Hopewell Townships. The LHT supports an active, livable, and sustainable community and envisions the trail as the means to connect people, landscape, and community.
