David Sandahl serves as a Trustee of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail Corporation, bringing to the board his expertise in strategic decision-making, community participation, and organizational leadership. He founded Decision Consulting, LLC, to help senior business and nonprofit leaders frame and execute major strategic decisions. Earlier in his career, David spent nearly two decades as a Senior Partner at Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., advising prominent private-sector firms on strategy and performance, and served as a Fiscal Economist at the White House Office of Management and Budget under two Presidents.
David holds a Master of Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) from Bowdoin College.
His civic and board roles span service as Deputy Mayor and Member of the Hopewell Township Committee, Member of the Hopewell Township Planning Board, Board Chair of the Princeton Family YMCA, and Member of the NJ Recovery Accountability Task Force. David was originally a Trustee of the LHTC in its early years and returned as Board Chair in 2023.
A longtime resident of Pennington, David is committed to the Lawrence Hopewell Trail as a community asset that connects people and communities, enhances mobility, and promotes health. He believes that working together on common projects, like the LHT, is one of the best ways to build community.
