Dear Friends of the LHT,

The Lawrence Hopewell Trail (LHT) has been designed, constructed, and maintained by your neighbors—people like you who place great value in enjoying their community, people who care about the environment, and who want to reduce our dependence on cars.

You and your neighbors, fans of the Trail—either as individuals or as members of our sponsoring organizations—have been our advocates. You have supported our signature events, such as The LHT Full Moon Ride or Trail and Treat Ride for kids. You have helped maintain the LHT and to do the work necessary to move us closer to completing the 22-mile loop. You have been among the thousands of people who regularly use the trail, thus demonstrating the value of the LHT, not only to Lawrence and Hopewell Townships, but all of Mercer County and beyond. The trail truly is a destination and you have all helped sustain the LHT by contributing to our Annual Appeal.  For all that you have done to make the LHT an essential community amenity, we thank you. Truly, the LHT has been built by the community, for the community!

As 2016 comes to a close, we ask that you consider continuing your support of your trail by making a financial contribution to the LHT. From every dollar you contribute, almost ninety-five cents will go to constructing, managing, and maintaining the LHT and developing programs that encourage its use for health, fitness, and fun.

With your support, we anticipate that 2017 will be a banner year for the LHT. Upcoming trail additions include construction in Lawrence Township, slated to begin on a segment on Province Line Road that crosses Route 206 and near Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Route 206 campus. Additionally, we will rededicate the trail segment on the new BMS Princeton Pike campus that now circles a working farm, so that you can enjoy this farm each season of the year.  In Hopewell Township, we will open the beautiful Whiskey House segment on Pennington-Rocky Hill Road, install a mid-block pedestrian crossing signal on Carter Road, and begin developing the trail segment at the Mount Rose Preserve on Carter Road. Of course, we will again sponsor the Full Moon Ride through Mercer Meadows Park and Trail and Treat Ride!  With your help we will introduce an all new initiative, the LHT Historical Signage Project, in which we will provide information about 34 historically significant locations along the LHT. Think of it. You and your family will be able to ride the LHT and enjoy a history lesson at the same time!

Please continue your support of the LHT by making a tax-deductible contribution by either clicking on the “Donate” button on the LHT website, or by donating through the New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign, or by sending a check to:
