Segment Name: Mercer Meadow- Pole Farm

Start / End:         Keefe Road – Blackwell Road

Description:       Once used as the nerve center for AT&T over-seas radio transmissions, this abandoned radiotelephone communications site encompasses 800 acres and is now part of the Mercer County Parks system. This section of LHT rides through scenic open meadows.

Segment Name: Mercer Meadows- Rosedale

 

Start / End:         Blackwell Road – Pennington-Rocky Hill Road

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail passes by the historic 1760 Hunt House at Blackwell Road and the scenic Rosedale Pond and Rosedale Lake, meandering through nearly 500 acres of County parkland to Federal City Road in Hopewell Township, NJ. Crossing Federal City Road, the trail passes the Dog Park and Equestrian Center, and then onto Old Mill Road.

Segment Name: BMS Hopewell

Start / End:         Pennington-Rocky Hill Road – Wargo Road

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail runs along the perimeter of the Hopewell campus of Bristol-Myers Squibb, passing Kerr’s Farm Produce Stand, on Pennington-Rocky Hill Road and proceeding along Titus Mill Road in Hopewell Township, NJ.

Segment Name: Stony Brook Millstone

Start / End:         Wargo Road – Moores Mill Mt Rose Road

Description:        Passing the fields of the Honey Brook Organic Farm, the Lawrence Hopewell Trail runs                            along Wargo Road in the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association nature preserve

from Titus Mill Road to Bradford Lane. From this point, the LHT turns east into Princeton Farms neighborhood and follows residential streets to Moores Mill Mt Rose Road.

Segment Name: Mt Rose Distillery

Start / End:         Moores Mill Mt Rose Road – Carter Road

Description:        From Moores Mill Mt Rose Road, the proposed route for the LHT is across open space owned by the Delaware & Raritan Greenway Land Trust. The Lawrence Hopewell Trail will pass through a portion of what is known as the Hillman Property west of Pennington-Rocky Hill Road. After crossing Pennington-Rocky Hill Road at Bailey Court, the Lawrence Hopewell Trail passes the historic Whiskey House, which housed offices for the Drake’s applejack distillery that operated in the mid-19th Century. Continuing north, the LHT turns into the Mt Rose Preserve to meet with Carter Road.

Segment Name: Mt Rose Preserve

Start / End:         Carter Road – Cleveland Road

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail will pass through property on east side of Carter Road and proceed to Cleveland Road.

Segment Name: Cleveland – Pretty Brook

Start / End:         Cleveland Road – Province Line Road

Description:        This segment of the LHT will run along Cleveland and Pretty Brook Road, and turn south on Province Line Road and across truss bridge.

Start / End:         Province Line Road – Rosedale Road/Mya Drive

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail loops through the beautiful park-like campus of the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

Segment Name: Carson Road Woods

Start / End:         Rosedale Road / Mya Drive – Carson Road

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail winds through the residential neighborhoods on Mya Drive, Benedek Road, and Belleview Terrace and joins Carson Road Woods to Carson Road.

Start / End:         Carson Road – Province Line Road/206

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail runs along the perimeter of the Lawrenceville campus of Bristol-Myers Squibb, between Carson Road and Province Line Road/206 intersection.

Segment Name: King’s Highway

Start / End:         Province Line/206 – Foxcroft/Princeton Pike

Description:        The Lawrence Hopewell Trail runs along the northern side of Province Line Road from Route 206 to Bannister Drive. The trail crosses Province Line Road and into the residential neighborhood at Bannister Drive, then turning south onto Foxcroft Drive, and ending at Princeton Pike.

Segment Name: Maidenhead Meadows

Start / End:         Foxcroft/Princeton Pike – Princeton Pike/Lenox

Description:        LHT crosses Princeton Pike into Maidenhead Meadows Park through a scenic meadow and woods. The southern section along Princeton Pike is still in development. The Lawrence Hopewell Trail connects to the Great Meadow Trail and the D&R Canal Towpath at the historic 1761 Brearley House.
