#OptOutside with Lawrence Hopewell Trail’s TRAIL MIX event on November 24, 2017 – Black Friday!

The Lawrence Hopewell Trail partners with REI to support getting outside on Black Friday. We all live busy lives, so how better to come together in support of life well-lived than to spend time outdoors, and with friends and family?

For the last two years, REI Co-op has shut down on Black Friday and paid its employees to get outside. In the world of retail, it’s a controversial move. Instead of driving sales, REI takes a breath in a busy world, to reground and enjoy precious time outside with friends and family. REI believes this effort can play an important role in bringing people together – to celebrate the people who bring the outdoors to life – and the moments that matter most to them – regardless of background or belief.

In support of REI OptOutside, the LHT is organizing the Trail Mix – a program of organized casual gatherings on the trail for people to ride, run, or walk, and enjoy time outside with friends, new and old. There will be four Trail Mix gatherings, all have a recommended start time of 10:00 a.m. and end time of 2:00 p.m. Visit the individual Trail Mix Facebook Friends to coordinate meetup times with family and friends!
